I just accepted an invitation to attend the upcoming Note Expo 2018 Convention and hope you’ll join me in taking part of this event dedicated to real estate note investing.

I don’t accept many offers to attend or speak at live events anymore because frankly there are very few high quality industry gatherings that can advance your business.  But I’m truly excited about this expo.

So why this event? Here are 5 reasons I’ll be at the….

5th Annual Note Expo Convention November 2-3, 2017 In Dallas, TX

1. Education Only

The first thing Eddie Speed said when he called to personally extend the invite to speak at the inaugural event was,

“Tracy this is no dog and pony show. There will be no selling from speakers on the stage.”

Now that was music to my ears. I like to teach first.

Let’s avoid the pitch-fest and get back to a true convention! If you have a service or product then let that be handled from the exhibitor/vendor space.

Eddie Speed and Bob Repass held true to that promise at the first four events and I’m confident we’ll all experience the same quality of education for the 2018 event at the Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel.  This year they are adding even more speakers with breakout sessions and afternoon workshops in addition to the main stage presentations.

2. Meet New Investors

Like most of us in the note business I’m always on the hunt for new investors. Unless you’re Warren Buffet or Oprah Winfrey you need access to capital. Plus every note presented might not fit my investment parameters but it could be a good fit for other investors.

Of course I’ll be sharing my new finds in the Note Buyer’s Directory but attending in person lets us meet the investors and establish a relationship. And they will all be conveniently located in the Capital Marketplace during breakfast, lunch, morning breaks and exhibitor hours.

3. Industry Focus (For Performing and Non-Performing Notes)

This expo was designed just for note investors with a focus on quality education and professional networking with other investors and vendors.

In addition to seller financed note buyers there will also be non-performing investors. Distressed debt is one of the hottest niches in the current note investing market. Eddie Speed, Note School founder will be sharing the latest trends and capital markets (including hedge fund buyers) for non-performing notes.

4. NotesDirect Online Listing Platform

After working with the NotesDirect online note trading site for the past year I’m excited to showcase the platform at the convention. 5. Quality Speakers

The speakers are top-notch and active in today’s market. They include investors, attorneys, securities experts, servicing agents, and private investors (you can check out the full list over at Note Expo).

There will also be a session updating us on progress by the Seller Finance Coalition (SFC) on the Seller Finance Enhancement Act HR 1360. This Bill proposes to increase the number of owner financed transactions exempt from regulation to 24 per year providing relief from the unintended consequences stemming from the Dodd-Frank Act.
